Manastash * Buck Meadow * Riders Camp

Manastash / Buck Meadows. Featuring “Riders Camp” and Manastash Campground. From I-90 take Ellensburg exit 109 in town. Turn right (north) onto Canyon Road. Go to the traffic light at McDonalds and turn left (west) on to Umptanum road and turn right at Dammon School onto Manastash Rd. Follow for about 22 miles to Riders Camp on the right or further down onto Manastash Campground on the left. This is a multi user area and supports some of the best elk and deer in the state. If you ride a horse and your kids ride bikes or quads, you can all camp and ride here. There is a water well pump at Manastash CG and a stock tank. However the stock tank is quite a ways out of camp and spring fed. The well pump was put in with the aid of Backcountry Horsemen of Washington. Many great views and critters to watch. Ride to Tripod Flats, Shoestring Lake, Quartz Mountain, Hereford Meadow, Keenan Meadow or many other trails on the map. Directions to this area are printed on the map

Keenan Meadow Trail.

Manastash_Clothes_Tree_web

The “Clothes” tree. Everything from boots, pants to swim fins are on this tree. It would be nice to know the ‘story’ around it all. This is just a ways out of Riders Camp.

ManastashWellweb

The water ‘hole’ at Manastash Camp. Haul your buckets from here.

Manastash_stock water

This stock water tank is too far from camp to be of use. The road is just below the tank but a far piece from where you would camp..

Lots of elk came visiting but didn’t stay long.

A bit snowy, Tripod Flat Trail

Lost Lake and too much snow on the trail this day to go any farther. It was still shirt sleeve weather.
